Overview of program
Our dedicated counselors are creating themed boxes making it possible to bring a little bit of camp to your home.
Using a lot of the equipment and materials we already have for so many projects and activities, camp related activity boxes give you the supplies necessary to create, explore, learn a new skill, or even bake a snack - Just like you might do with us at camp!
Not only are Camp boxes FUN, but it allows campers to try many different projects and activities without parents needing to plan anything or purchase the supplies and materials. We think this works out perfectly - our equipment and supplies get put to use, and families don't have to hang onto all the extra materials that just take up space!
Choose from our selection of activity boxes, use your box for up to 2 weeks, and return the equipment and left over supplies!

Halloween Snack Box
Are you ready for Halloween?? This week’s box will come with ingredients to make fun, spooky, Halloween-themed snacks!
Piñata
This box comes with the materials to make and decorate your own piñata! Campers will learn the history of piñatas, as well as mix up a paper mache recipe, cover a balloon with paper mache and newspaper, and design decorations using paint or tissue paper. Maybe they can fill it up with leftover Halloween candy!
Nature Scavenger Hunt
This box encourages campers to go out in nature and explore! Included are multiple scavenger hunt activities, searching for specific things, or getting creative using their senses to see, hear, feel, smell, and (imagine) taste things they might find while out on a hike. There is a color-matching game, and a Nature Close Up guessing game!
VFCC Craft Box

This box brings us back to craft days at VFCC! We include all the materials for campers to make designs with Perler Beads, and materials to make lanyards.

Compass & Sundial
Navigation is an important skill for all adventurers!. This box teaches campers all about compasses; how and why they work, what they do, and most importantly, how to use one! Campers will not only get games to help them practice their skills, but they will get to make their own compasses as well!
Branch Weaving
At camp, we are always acknowledging the beauty in nature. This box will not only get campers outside in search of the perfect ‘canvas’ to build their display of color on, it is also a FUN opportunity to create a piece of art from something natural and/or personalize your own hiking stick!
Macramé Plant Hanger
A versatile form of fiber art, Macrame can be used to make everything from wall hangings and plant hangers to clothes. This box gives you the instructions and materials needed to learn how to create personalized indoor plant hangers! We provide the cord and beads so you can create a unique, fun, and useful decoration for your home.
Popcorn & Lemonade

Bath Bombs
Chemistry in action! This box teaches campers all about the fizzy chemical reactions between bath bombs and hot water. Campers will make DIY bath bombs, create their own color and scent combinations, and get to enjoy a relaxing, fizzy bath when they’re done!
Ancient Paint
Have you ever thought about what you’d have done during the day in ancient times? Did you fish, or start a fire? Maybe you were an artist! In this box, campers will make paint out of natural materials. They will then draw on their imagination to create a pictograph of life in ancient times!
Victory Garden
Moving into fall, it’s time to switch up our crops! This box comes with all new seeds, including beets, lettuce, peas, and radish sprouts, for a new season. Campers will learn the history of Victory Gardens, when to plant what, how to transplant their seedlings, as well as how to regrow scraps from your own kitchen!
Berry Crescent Braids
Snack boxes bring us back to the kitchen at VFCC! This box will include ingredients and instructions for campers to make a tasty baked treat made with berries, cream cheese, and crescent rolls! Mmm!
Tie Dye
Engage your creative side with VFCC tie dye! In this box, campers will mix colors to create bright abstract swirls and patterns. We’ll provide fabric dye, soda ash, squirt bottles, rubber bands, and a white Venture Free bandana. There will be plenty of dye to tie dye a t-shirt, pillowcase, socks, or anything else you have on hand!
The Apple and Bird Box
It's a baking box AND a bird-watching box! This box will include recipes and ingredients for a VFCC Bake-Day favorite, Easy Apple Cake. As well as identification cards and the supplies to make bird feeders with some of the same ingredients! Kids can learn to identify common birds in our area while they enjoy a treat right out of the VFCC Recipe Book (when we finally write our recipe book)!
Awesome BUG Box
This box gives you the supplies to craft together awesome bug observing tools; a bug net, a bug screen with flashlights, and even a honeybee and butterfly watering station! It will also include identification cards to ID any cool bugs you discover. Use this box to learn all about the bugs around us!
Piñata
This fun craft box comes with all the supplies to create a paper mache piñata, as well as plenty of craft supplies to decorate your piñata with! Campers will also learn the history of piñatas, such as where they originated and which cultures made and used them.
Nature Scavenger Hunt
This box encourages campers to go out in nature and explore! In addition to fun scavenger hunts, getting creative using senses to see, hear, feel, smell, and (imagine) taste things campers might find while out on a hike, this box will provide supplies to craft with some of their found natural objects and prompts for other projects!
Astronomy Box
Do you love stars and watching the night sky? This box contains stargazing activities, constellation and moon phase models, and gravity distortion demos!
VFCC Craft Box
This box comes with all the supplies to complete a couple of the kids favorite go-to crafts from VFCC as well as a couple new activities! This includes; Perler beads (iron needed at home), Lanyards, Origami, Watercolor and salt painting, and felt animal sewing.
Rock Box
This box will teach kids about rocks and minerals! They will get to create their own hardness test and will be provided supplies to do mineral testing. In addition to being given rocks to identify, and geodes to break open, this will also get them exploring the natural makeup of their own backyard and open spaces!
VFCC Snack Box
Smoothies and Energy balls anyone? Get all the ingredients to make delicious fruit smoothies (blender needed at home) AND Peanut Butter and Oat energy balls!
