The Background of Venture Free 
Venture Fee was founded in 2014 by Emily Phelps in San Mateo County, CA.  Emily grew in the redwoods of Kings Mountain, and as a child played for endless hours outside, with little restrictions. This is why she associates being outside with freedom! Emily feels that technology: phones, video games, and computers interfere with that freedom for many of today’s youth. She’s discovered when she takes kids outside in nature and gives them a place where technology is not their major interaction, they learn to interact with nature and each other instead.  Emily feels very fortunate to live in a place where we are surrounded by nature--and wants to make it more accessible to kids who don’t have access to it.
